It is now official, at the end of 2016, there were 359 less Subway restaurants in the United States than the year before. Gross sales in the United States were down by approximately $200 Million dollars.
Many hundreds of Subway franchises were terminated last year in arbitrations commenced for alleged non-compliance by franchisees. Franchisees report a spike in negative evaluations in what some claim is an effort to force more franchisees to “exit” the Subway brand.
